Award-winning public relations professional joins company as it announces single largest public transportation contract win in the U.S.
ROCKVILLE, MD – March 12, 2014 – Public relations and marketing communications industry veteran Leslie Aun has joined Keolis North America, a leading provider of passenger transportation services throughout the U.S. and Canada, as its new director of communications and public relations.
In this position, Aun will lead overall communications for the company, including media relations, corporate marketing and branding, messaging, event and campaign management, crisis, public policy, online strategy, executive communications and community engagement.
Aun began her career as a print and broadcast journalist in the Washington area. She has previously held senior-level communication roles at major corporations and non-profit organizations including MCI, Sodexo, Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and World Wildlife Fund, where she won the prestigious Silver Anvil Award for excellence in the field of public relations. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University where she teaches graduate level communications classes, and is on the board of Penn State University’s Sustainability Institute.
Aun is a Washington D.C. native and graduate of the University of Virginia. Keolis North America also has a strong connection to Virginia, as the company operates the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) service used by thousands of Virginia residents each day.
